Floating Crystal

This is a beautiful clear Quartz shard with pale amethyst accents. It has been wrapped in copper wire.

Quartz has attracted attention from the earliest times; water-clear crystals were known to the ancient Greeks as krystallos—hence the name crystal.

Ancient Greeks and Romans believed Amethyst could ward off the intoxicating powers of Bacchus and keep the wearer clear-headed and quick-witted. English regalia were decorated with amethysts during the Middle Ages to symbolize royalty. Amethyst jewelry has been found and dated as early as 2000 BC.

These stones have been wrapped in copper wire. The wire has been oxidized, polished and sealed to give it that antiqued look.
